Zipper from Northern Italy

The metal parts have an important role in our bags from the standpoint of true durability. A mere high quality main material is nothing without the details to match it. We work together with Italian Lampo, that supplies us with all zippers utilised in Lovia bags.

The Lampo zipper factory has been functioning since 1887 in Northern Italy, near Milan. Strong craftsmanship and current technology combine at the Lampo factory, producing high quality zippers. The quality of these parts is essential for our bags, because with them we can add on the years of life for our precious treasures. A working zipper goes a long way in a weekender, right? And if you can use the same bag for long, the less need you have for new, meaning less strain on our environment.

Precision creating quality

We want to tell the stories of the people behind our products as transparently as possible, because you as the carrier of the bag deserve to know its story - right down to the details.

Lampo zipper parts are made out of brass and zamak and every part used in the production comes from within Italy. Lampo takes care of every step in the production of each zipper. Every tooth in each individual zipper is refined individually to ensure the highest quality.

The Lampo factory is located in the Palazzolo sull’Oglio near the Clio factory, where all Lovia bags come to life. From the Lampo factory the zippers go directly to the Clio team, and there they become crucial parts of our trash treasures before making their way onto new homes.

In 2021 Lampo has especially focused on strengthening their sustainability actions, covering not only production but social wellbeing of their employees.

Greetings from Palazzolo sull'Oglio

We want to give our partners a chance to make their voice heard, as they play a crucial role in realising our vision of trash becoming treasure. Here we have gathered greetings as well as bits and pieces from everyday at the Palazzolo sull’Oglio located factory of Lampo.

“We are committed to constantly diminishing the negative impact of our actions to the planet. For this we are constantly on the lookout for new solutions that would enable us to lessen the burden caused by our products.”

-Annalisa Venturelli, Area Manager, Lampo

Where can we do better?

With the use of different metal parts we enable our bags to become long-lasting partners, as metal stands the test of time without becoming fragile. The origin of the metal is a common challenge in the industry, because in many settings the chain can be hard to track down. In the future we want to keep on developing this, and to be able to drill right down to the start of our metal details’ journey. We only utilise metal details in our bags with much thought behind them, and when their use is required to increase the age expectancy of our items.

Get to know the bags and discover your own treasure.
