The story of a gentle gift is transparent
Unique treasures in the hands of artisans
Lovia bags are produced in the hands of artisans in Italy, near Milan. At the Clio factory, excess material gets a new life thanks to the talented team who has decades of experience in working with designer bags. Our jewellery inspired by Finnish forests gets its final shape in the hands of our goldsmith in Alppila, Helsinki. With the help of 3D technology and 15 years of goldsmith experience, the design ideas stemming from Kainuu forest turn into concrete jewellery. As we know our partners personally and are in direct contact with them, we are able to ensure the quality of the products as well as maintain ecological and ethical practises.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure
The main material of our bags is excess leather and textile, which we collect from side streams of other industries: cutting waste from furniture making, fish leather as a by-product of food production and elk leather from population control hunting, to name a few. By using excess material, we’re able to reduce the environmental impact of our products compared to using new leather that would be produced for our bags only. The base material used for our jewellery is led- and nickel-free bronze, sourced from Germany. We strive to use recycled material and at the moment, the level of recycled materials in our jewellery is about 92-98 percent.

We do many concrete actions to reduce the carbon footprint of our products such as using excess material and designing our products to be long-lasting and multifunctional. Calculating our emissions helps us develop the production process to be even more environmentally friendly in the future. We hope that by being honest about our emissions, we can help you understand the fashion industry’s impact on the environment and inspire you to make more sustainable choices.

Lovia’s treasures are gentle gifts to the receiver, the makers and to the environment. This Christmas, everyone gets a gift - also the one giving it in the first place. When you buy a Lovia bag or jewellery between 24.11.-19.12.2021, you get a 50€ gift card valid for a minimum purchase of 150€, which can be used 25.12.2021-31.1.2022.
It’s important for us that Lovia treasures are truly meant for their new owners, which is why we always have a 30-day exchange and return policy. For the holiday season, in addition to the regular, all gifts bought after 24th of November have extended exchange policy until 15th of January 2022, so you can make sure the gift will be a good match to its receiver.
